Hal Whiteman
1958 – 2023
In memory of our partner and friend . . .
Attorney Hal Whiteman has earned a national reputation for achieving exceptional results on behalf of injured workers, accident victims, and their families. During the early days of his practice, Hal represented insurance companies and claims agencies. It was during this time that he gained in-depth knowledge of the strategies they use to assess and defend claims. During the latter part of his career, Hal put that knowledge, along with his unwavering commitment to obtaining justice, to work for clients across the state of Georgia.
Hal held a perfect 10/10 rating from AVVO, was named to Thomson Reuters’ list of Super Lawyers for six consecutive years, and was AV Rated by Martindale-Hubbell for more than two decades. He was a sought-after speaker on topics related to workers’ compensation and injury law, having presented for the Georgia Institute of Continuing Legal Education, Atlanta Bar Association, and Insurance Law Institute.
A native Atlantan, Hal received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia before earning his juris doctorate from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Sandy Springs Bar Association since 2005 and was an active member of the State Bar of Georgia Workers’ Compensation Section and Litigation Sections.
When not practicing law, Hal enjoyed volunteering with several community organizations, including Habitat for Humanity. Mt. Bethel Church, and Heritage Sandy Springs. He is survived by his wife Pat and step-daughter Whitney.
